I came across a 'lost' poster asking to help find a lost engagement ring misplaced at a local park. It was near a kids' jungle gym (where most of the signs were) & I was besieged by local children! I looked over with a grimace at the unconcerned parents while trying to complete the recovery; I couldn't even swing the metal detector because there were too many kids screaming at worms and pointing getting in the hole ect. I hit a scratchy 75 and was figured I'd unearth a clad penny to give them to make them disperse. Instead, my dig revealed this .925 ring.
As I dug up this ring, a random child grabbed the it from my hand while I was cleaning the dirt off. She stopped about 8 feet away and began cleaning it more. I asked for it back & she wouldn't give it to me! Finally I said that I had tell the police I found it and she relented. Toughest recovery ever! The kids were calling me "Metal Man." By the way, is this ring onyx or something else?
Ps. I'll be back nice and early on a Saturday, hopefully they'll be watching cartoons!
