Hunted an old State Hospital property the other day with CanUDigit. Went back today to see if I could better locate where the two old hospitals once stood.
First day I got my first SLQ which was a rush for me even though its really worn with no date. Also found some old make up containers, Max Factor Rouge. Today I went back and got a 1890 Indian head, No date Buffalo, 1934&36 wheaties and part of an old restraint.
The restraint says Humane Restraint Co. on it. Straight jacket? This facility used to house Insane people.
I also found my second in two weeks (two locations)6 Lever Champion Lock. This one is complete, these are cool locks.

Awesome digs!!!!

Was it creepy detecting around an old asylum?

Well I did some more research on the area I was in. It was not the State Hospital until 1941. It was known as the Chester County Poor House. Built in 1793. It housed the poor, children, idiots (as they were called) the Insane & Violently Insane.

Some reading for those interested - http://dsf.chesco.org/archives/cwp/view.asp?a=3&Q=631599&PM=1

I imagine not much money from when the orphans lived there. Seeing how they did not have any money, but should be a good deal from the 40's. Nice finds, I'm still looking for some other quarter than a Washington. WTG!!

Keep @ it and HH!!

beautiful finds ! love the silver ! congrats :headbang:

Awesome B! Real nice hunting! Cool finds! I added to the matchbox to my collection for my nephew. My Double-D coil came today! I like it already just from the air tests!
