I know a little about bottles, but not much. How do you know this one is from the 1740's? I never thought much about wine bottles as they look similar even to this day.

Well if your wine bottle can't stand up straight and was found in a creek near the early 1700's mission and fort (Presidio) of Los Adaes
in North Louisiana you might have a wine bottle from the 1700's

Cool bottle. I'd like to see some close-ups.

This is a close up of the bottom.

I have been looking for a bottle like this one for 12 years. I would find a neck or the bottom every time, but not today,
I found the whole thing.

Here's The neck and top.

It looks like a kick-up to me.
Newt

A kick up bottle is blown in a mold.
There is nothing uniform about this bottle.
There is no indication that a mole was used.

Thanks for the link Relicdude07 ///// I'm still leaning towards 1700's

This is the way most of the ones i find look. Its good to see a whole bottle
