Creek Marbles

I like to look around this creek called Pogue's run which runs through my neighborhood in the near east side of Indianapolis. I always find marbles after a good rain. I imagine they come from kids playing on its banks over the last 100 years or so.

Wow, those are cool! Something that is really cool about this: In the pic of the marbles on the green mat... the one on the right with the yellow and blue on white... that one is a not-so-common marble made by the Kokomo Glass Company in Kokomo Indiana. That one didn't stray very far from home! The middle one in that picture looks like it might be one too, and in an odd color combo. More pics of it?

Other marbles that pop out as worthy of more pictures are the blue and yellow one in your hand and in the first pic of the bagged marbles, there is one in the bottom right corner. Those might be good ones, more pics of different views of them would help in their ID.

The rest look like they are more common old marbles made in America from the turn of the century to the 50s or so.

I can't quite tell if the marble in the upper right corner in the last pic of the bagged ones is the same one as Cheese is talking about in the first bag. If not, would like to see a pic of that one too! As Cheese said, very cool marbles all around - wish I had a creek like that near me!!!

Thanks for the information guys. It's been raining pretty hard yesterday and today so I'll be hunting marbles in the creek by Monday! I'll post pics if I come up with anything good. Here are some more shots of the ones mentioned above.

The blue and yellow one and the one from the bag with the yellow ribbon are both Akro corkscrews from around the 1930s. They are pretty collectible, depending on condition. That's one problem with being in a creek.
