That really looks like a great area to dig. Good luck.

That looks like the Hog Mtn I know. If it is I still have property near there, in facts that looks like the property that was for sale last year. Theres a cemetery just up the road from there, lots of Browns buried there. Is that near Goldville?
There is gold in Hillabee Creek, 1 mi due west from where you hunted at the Sanford bridge. Property owned by Nelsons. The Hillabee tribe was wiped out in a village on the creek 1812 by Gen White, he was sent down there by Jackson from Talladega. My property is near the tribe village I guess. Let me know if you were hunting in Talapoosa county.
I may know some places you could hunt, Last summer I spent a few days camping
on the creek, that was living. HH Gnewt

PS Might be another Hog Mtn but it looks exactly Like the one I know.

Great History, & a great place to hunt, keep us posted.

Fossis...............

lol he couldnt stop.....straight had twice as many men and he wouldnt even stop to fight...except the few time Forrest caught up to him

Steve!! I see you've been to Fred's! That's a great place. I love to go there!

Super pictures!! Nana :) OH..and congrats on the bullet~!

Great book on this subject. The Lightning Mule Brigade by Robert L Willett.Thru bad intelligence Streight thought Forrest outnumbered him. Nana I've seen some of your posts you must live pretty close,I live off Hwy 157 about 10 minutes from Fred's museum

yeah they took 2 cannons and brought them over a hill in streights view...went back around the hill and back across ...did that several times until streight surrendered

nice area kinda looks like a scene out of the movie patriot where mel gibson and his 2kids hide and start taking out the soldiers walking the path to rescue his son that they took prisoner

That looks like it should be a good site--and you get to hunt it. Luck to you.

Stryker

Yes that's it.Here's a pic of the Days Gap area 10 miles north of Crooked Creek where they fought earlier.
