Scored a Crotal Bell at our local state park this afternoon. Spent about an hour by the creek with the Manticore. Had some serious high tone deep targets but it was hard digging with my little hori hori. I gave up on three of them.

Found fifteen cents in modern clad, one dime and five memorials.

Walked back the creek and found a sand bar where I found the bell. I think the bell is more modern late 1800's early 1900's. I turned it over to the park manager so they can determine it's historical value to the park. Once that's done I'll get a call letting me know if I get to keep it or they're going to keep it.

It is in good condition, good find
I didn't get any other pics before I handed it over, the bottom is kind of blown out. Mostly there, but cracked open.

It's a jingle bell.
They attached to a leather strap/frame on the sleigh/wagon.
Nice recovery 👍

Yeap, nice Sleigh Bell, we don't find those over here, only Crotal Bells.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Looks like it's most likely a "bee hive" two piece stamped bell made after 1870.
