Hello,

It was recommended that I post the crystal arrowhead I found here for further information. I assumed it was quartz crystal because I found a few more crystal stones nearby. Any information would be greatly appreciation. Thanks!

Where was it found? That would help with ID.

It was found in upstate South Carolina.

I've included another photo for a size comparison. I hope that its of use. The arrowhead was found in upstate SC in an area that had been cleared for a pond. Several pieces of quartz crystal were found in the area. The larger cluster was also found nearby.

Nice point. No doubt it's quartz crystal. Should be easy to type by SC collectors. Thanks for showing.

Ok, that helps. It's a Serrated, Kirk Stemmed, nice serrations too. Congrats on your find.
Welcome to T-net Drgnfly. Thankyou for sharing pics.

Molly.

You're very welcome! Thank you Molly for sharing the information. Its nice to learn more about it.

Definitely quartz and definitely a Kirk Stemmed Serrated Point and a darn fine one at that.

That is a Kirk point but not a full crystal quartz point that is a very nice one though I also live in upstate s.c I will send you a pm

That is one top-shelf find! I would be happy recovering a single point like that in an entire collecting season.

I collect in Pennsylvania. We have lots of quartz in the southeast corner of the state, but Kirk points are elusive. Of the Kirk stemmed variety, I believe I only have two Pennsylvania examples - both purchased, and both from the central part of the state.

Again, great find!

Thanks for the amazing information. Would anyone have rough idea of its value? I'm very curious. Thank you.
