Nice! It is not uncommon to find crystals inside fossils. I find quite a number of Baculites and ammonites with crystals within.
 

I can't tell from your pics, but old digger is right, I have an ammonite that has druze crystals and what I think is a calcite spray.

My favorite fossil - the two-foot diameter ammonite in the NY Museum of Natural History. The fossil is a iridescent gemstone called "ammolite". Pictures just don't do it justice.

Placenticeras intercalare according to AMNH. Found in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
