FBS doesn't test well in air. Chains can be especially weird as I'm sure you know.
I've found more stainless of all types than I care to dig.

I found several stainless chains with my old ATP and was doing some air testing with my 3030 using a stock coil, settings wide open (so I thought) and the CTX won't detect three different balled up stainless chains. All are moderately thick 18" chains. Is that normal? Thanks ladies and gents.

Do any of your other machine detect those chains? Most detectors have a problem picking up small link chains. Personally, I don't care if I ever find a small link stainless chain.

They don't come up great, but I've found several.

Yes, these chains were found with my ATP so another machine should pick them up and no, they are not small chains at all. Also, it's not the steel I want. Where I live, valuable amulets (some made of stone) are often hung on steel chains so, yeah I would like to be able to detect them.

Don't worry... I will be along to retrieve.

I like stainless. :P

I have my reasons. :)
