All Treasure Hunting
The temperature was 80 degrees with low humidity. I'm still waiting for the delivery of a few coil charging clips for my DEUS. No way I was going to let a beautiful day like yesterday slip by without detecting. I reached for the CTX, loaded up the bike and headed for one of my favorite parks.
Little did I know that this hunt would end up being 8 hours long, especially since I didn't start swinging the coil until 12 P.M.
The targets just kept coming. I had one plug that produced 4 wheat pennies. Another plug produced 5 keys, and still another produced 5 clad dimes. About 2 hours into the hunt, out popped a 1944 Mercury Dime.
Other interesting targets were a junk ring that rang up like silver, a College Game Room Token, (A degree in Pinball required), a harmonica reed, a small badly decomposed pocket knife, and a pin that reads, "In The Name Of 7D." I think it is a Seventh Day Disciple Pin. (Not sure).
My total coin count for this outing came to 101. What a nice way to spend 8 hours

Sounds like one of my park Hunts but more Clad .

Do you happen to know when that style of 'Rounded Top' Key was popular?

I want to say 1950's and 60's.
This park is located directly across from a NYC housing project. All of the original apartment door locks were of the same make and of course,, so were the keys. These projects opened in the late 50's.

Nice hunt! Came home with a bag full of goodies(even if there was clad in there)! The fact you hit silver says the park is not yet hunted out and there's hope for more, no way I could have done that 8 hr stretch though. Way to go!

wow, that's a lot of everything, especially the ups and downs but you really tore it up!:notworthy: congrats on those finds. tired anyone?

Man that's a lot of digging. I can't remember the last time I swung for 8 hrs. Congrats on all the goods!

Although I will be miss hunting with you on a regular basis when you move, I will be happy that you will finally stop vacuuming up all the coins in my area. :3coins::wink:
