Had a V3i and the CTX is way easier and I think better at target ID

It's going to be really hard to get accurate responses. Most people will not own multiple top-end detectors, and some of the ones that have owned both may not have taken the time to truly learn them.

I cannot comment on the V3i. I have seen the Deus in use and it seems like a really great detector if you have high-trash locations. I have been using a CTX for a year now. I can say that the CTX is the best detector I have ever owned so far. Only you can decide if it's worth the cost or not.
