cut silver (?) or bank token, compact and clean iron pics

Found this yesterday at our new site. A lot of trash on this home site (China, blue glass and a lot of iron). I had a buddy with me using jdsly's detector. He found this cool little "Princess Pat" compact on his first trip! Go Johnny T!







I dug this, what looked like a piece of cut silver, which actually might be some sort of local bank token. I cleaned most of the orange clay stains off and its stamped "savings deposit"(?) and looks like local town name stamped on reverse side.







Also, I tried out cleaning a couple iron finds and wanted to post a couple pics showing how they turned out



A hatchet head found on our colonial site



And an iron shoe buckle also found on our colonial site.

Nice finds Darby. I searched Google and found Princess Pat - The Real Story of this Cosmetics Brand with the history and a good clean picture of the compact.

Yeah, that aluminum token might've given me a heart attack.

I LOVE the iron shoe buckle. Not many of those dug, much less diligently preserved. That's a great find, IMO. Also like the wide felling axe. Great stuff!

Yes, I was so excited when I first saw it, covered in orange clay, you couldn't see any detail. I tried to keep hunting while heading to my truck but was anxious to get home and clean it! Needless to say the area between my truck and the spot I found it can be considered "fresh", I was just under a jog heading to see if was really silver! Still a neat find and plan to research it. And thanks on the buckle and hatchet head. They turned out so nice its going to make me dig more iron!
