Took a day off work today and the wife and I went Civil War relic hunting for 3 hours at the spot that a month ago produced my first Capped Bust quarter. Not a bad day for 3 hours in a place that I and others have pounded. The first good signal produced a pristine .54 cal. machined groove minie (MM#410)...I have dug 4 others in this place in the past, but none as fine as this one. My second signal was BIG and resulted in an iron stirrup. But the best was the last, a large two ring minie that best I can tell is either a British Sea Service (MM#291) or more likely a Musketoon bullet (MM#293). I have never found one of these before. HH everybody!
