Found at civil war plantation site, about 3 inches long. Hit by plough and bent. Was orginally straight

Looks a lot like a contact out of an electrical relay

They come in many shapes and sizes but they all have one thing in common the little button of contact material near one of the ends. Overheated contact definitely would match the patina on your item
