Hi all,
I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in so feel free to move it as required.
At the hunt club I belong to there is a small grave yard walled off and one of the tombstones is of a CW veteran. I have Googled him, but I cannot find much on him at all. I was wondering if there are any CW soldier buffs in here that may shed some light on the unit. Here is what his tombstone says.
J.B Burton
Company H
4 VA RES
Born Feb 24th 1847
Died Oct 3rd 1917
It is a small family burial plot with his wife, two sons and I believe a son or grandson (died very young). I was just curious about the guy and his exploits in the war.
When I pass by the grave yard I always say hello lol. Once a year I will pull weeds and vines and such to keep it neat for them. His burial plot is in Amelia County Virginia right on Lee's retreat off of what is now SR 708. Anyway, Thanks for the help in advance.
