Cylinder Thingy

I came across this cylinder thingy. The blunt end is closed. There is no opening in it. The tapered end has threads on the inside to accept something. The body is cross hatched for gripping. It is hollow. I think it is brass. It has me curious. I bet somebody here knows what it is.

Looks like a Mouth Piece to me.
IF the Blunt end were open,
I'd Say
for Either Pipe, Cigarette, Or Instrument.

is the tapered end open ?

Yes, the tapered end is open with female threads. You guys are good! It could be to part of a tool set. I bet it is a razor handle. Thanks for fixing the pic, Jeff.
