Yep that was the WWF?s ?Rock n? Wrestling? promotion and Captain Lou takes the credit. Albano was already friends with Lauper from appearing as her ?Dad? in the ?Girls Just Wanna..? music video; Lauper (and MTV) agreed to his idea of cross-promoting MTV and WWF to their respective audiences to capitalize on the explosive growth of cable television. I don?t remember any other legit music artist besides Lauper getting involved - it was definitely an angle where WWF reaped all the rewards. The surge in WWF?s viewership led to Vince McMahon hosting his first Wrestlemania - remember Mr.T vs Rowdy Roddy Piper ?!
