Looks like there is no hope to get Harris County--county parks re-open now that they found some old artifacts in the Cypress Creek area.
They found old stone projectile points and clay pottery bits- all items found were NON- metallic so metal detectors wouldn't detect them anyway. Some of the county park areas are along Cypress Creek and the banks of the creek are being modified so they won't erode as much---that is where they have found these artifacts.
But the county officials have banned metal detecting in county parks because they don't want these old artifacts dug up by metal detector users.

Metal detectors detect metal items.... not stone points or clay/sand bits of pottery !!!!!!!!!!!!
