my son owns 15 acres in hudspeth county texas , next to the finlay mtns. at sierra blanca was trying to find out if there is any gold in this area. if someone could take the time to help me i would sure thank you.

Hope the info in the other post helps you. It sure would be nice to own land in that area. I just went through there a couple of years ago. I love that part of Texas. There's lots of stories about that part of Texas. Fort Davis is a very interesting place too. Its not far from there. The troops out of Fort Davis worked all that area out there all the way to the border. good reading can be found on this area. Best of luck to you, and hope you enjoy your visit.

thank you old river, i do not know a lot about texas history or anything else about texas. have been through there a lot of times, on my way to somewhere else. it is a pretty place just never took the time to stay and check it out. sure do thank you for your help, might be a good place to check out this winter, again thank you travel.

Winter is what I'm waiting for right now. I went out today because it was a little cool, but when I got down in those trees, and brush I found out it wasn't so cool. Needless to say I didn't stay long. I like to my metal detecting in the cooler months. Thanks for the reply.

If you are into rockhounding you might find some nice specimens. If
you are geologically savvy check out heavy quartz for gold streaks.
