ace 250, Garrett GTI 2500 and Minelab Excalibur 800
We got to do something last Sunday that has never been done, to my knowledge, in the history of metal detecting........we were asked to do a construction clean-up of a new exhibit area of the Dallas Zoo that is called Giants of the Savannah. It will house elephants, giraffes, antelopes, as well as some of the big cats.

We all had a great time. We found about a 5-gallon bucket full of trash, which included alot of wires, nails, bolts, and other dangerous to the animals objects. Also, a very large piece of metal that is possibly part of a car.

It was a great opportunity to give back to the community & help insure the animal's safety.
Since the turnout was low (10 people) and we were unable to cover all the ground needed to be cleaned...... We are working on returning this Saturday pending weather & authorization.
We need volunteers in the DFW area. Let me know if you can make it.

keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MR TUFF

great nice thing --finding anything besides the scrap junk -- like clad coins and such?

Y'all did well.......and people's estimation of our hobby, if this was in the local papers, will go up tremendously.

Our club does something similar several times a year. At our fair grounds they have demolition derbies and we clean up the arena after the derby before they have rodeos and such. We are paid for our efforts and the money goes to help the club.

Nice job.
