Damaged Bolen Ax

I looked today from 11:30 - 3:00 in two fields. This is what I found. The bolen has some damage on one end. It is the second one I have found in the same field this year. The field is planted in cotton and so little of the cotton came up it is like looking a field that has not been planted. It is unbelievably dry here. In the Albany Herald yesterday they said that the Flint River was the lowest it has ever been in recorded history.

They're thinking about renaming it the "Flint Trickle"! I might get to walk the Muckalee creek Saturday. If I do I will have to roll my pants up to mid-calf to keep them dry.
