One thing you can count on when detecting ,old country homes in Tennessee,is a plethora of zinc canning jar lids.
The kids must have used them for toys.
Although they can be identified by the signal most of the time,I am still compelled to dig them ,in hope there is a jar full of treasure on the bottom of them.
I just spent an hour detecting at the house in the woods next door(for the 10th time),sure enough several more zinc lids were found.Maybe the remains of an old still down the hill account for the large number of lids found there!
The only items of interest found were a hair barette 2 1/2 inches long in the shape of a pair of scissors,an 8" file and the remains of a pocket knife.
