Day 4's hut dig, Big Bottle Bonanza.

Today I found the corner of the hut and a pile of bottles. Most of the bottles were broke but I managed some real beauties.

You found my pipe I use to do the bottle digging thing before I got into Md'ing .It was a cool feeling everytime I found one & before I got to see what it was much like the feeling I get from all the things I find.But finding the whole ones were always a rush.Nice Finds you got there.

That's really cool! I found a bottle dump years ago in the woods behind my grandparents house as a kid. I had a ball and found a few unbroken bottles from the late 1800's.

Thanks Reb, I started out digging bottle dumps with my grandmother when I was 10. So they have special meaning for me. Of course digging bottles dumps was a lot easier , we just raked the surface dirt with hoe rakes.

Very nice indeed on the bottles, is the one on the right a three piece mold? Looks like there's a seem between the pipe and lead in the photo?

I don't know a lot about bottles but both whiskeys have a seem around the base of the neck. Is that what you mean?
