With great excitement we set off bright nd early to at last go back to the field where I found my greatest treasure…… but the pheasant shooting season has started and the gates were locked 😕 so we scrambled for plan b, some stubble fields that are going to be contracted out, so our last chance to get in them. Hmmm … we’ll it was a beautiful day… the Sky Larks were swooping overhead… but the signals were few and far between.

I started digging the iron! Hence the shoes and nails, but i did get part of a spur, and buttons! Himself got the thimble, it’s big and chunky! a damaged crotal bell and assorted lead bits, one small musket ball and bullet. Not our best day in terms of treasure, but any day digging rather than working is a great day xx

You’re still digging up history, so well done. Also, the final pic of the sunburst over the field is beautifu!

Well your day was slow in your books.
But you still dug some pretty cool looking stuff.
Liking the silver looking button lower right. 👌

Even your bad days are great, you guys are an awesome team. I'm hoping you'll be able to identify the center item in the third photo. Magnified it looks like some sort of figure on the end.

Very interesting finds. You never know what you might find and those are pretty amazing! WTG!

I think the thimble might be medieval era based on some I've seen posted here before, probably by Crusader. You might get his opinion on it

The Thimble is Medieval, circa 14th C.

Yup, nice bee hive!

A medieval Thimble is not an everyday find. I like it!
