A melted musket ball still with its casting sprue. Fell into the fire and melted before it could be finished. Found near the location of a Revolutionary War battlefield.

Found a "new" spot this last week in the hills for Northern California. This is for me the single best day of detecting I have had. There were many more artifacts, just chose these for now.

Can anyone confirm or deny if this is a musket ball? It's definitely lead and was found in a place old enough to hold such things. Thanks!

A perfect day spent walking in the sun produced these lovely items… no hammered, but happy to save these. Not sure if that’s a coat of arms on the metal pendant? And more of the little lead pieces... we now have 7 of them. Any IDs as ever much appreciated. x

So a new field tonight, on the old maps there is a “station” noted… but no train tracks so we wondered if I could be military... clearly something was happening there as lots of targets…. And old pottery on the surface.

1800s Musket Ball Found in Canada.

found this lead ball in a area that has been IDed as a 16th century settlement in NC WHERE I FOUND quarter size flat button with no backmarks. weighs slightly over 20 grams, nearly 3/4 in. could this be a musket ball?

It is a one piece very heavy iron I thing . It has striations around the ball part. The shank is drilled. Very odd to me ... I found ball buttons before but first one like this..
