DAY9 on the HUGE FIELD.......

I decided to share the digging with Dad today as the wet ground from last nights rain gives my large coil false signals.

Just to prove yesterday is not the norm we found very little, & got hit by a shower of hail stones to go with it.

1 scrappy Roman & a pistol shot made the day

Storms tomorrow so will stay in & do the washing.

Still nice to get out with your Dad, and it's better than sitting inside watching the snow fall.

I did go out for about an hour today and found some clad, but the snow chased me back in.

You can give the wash to the Mrs. next door down. Would you rather have dirty hands or wash day red hands?

Hey Dugfinds, that is a great day of detecting and congrats on the finds! I have had many days with no keepers and would have welcomed a button, LOL. For me it is not just the finds, I enjoy the peace of mind and exercise I get and detecting with your Father is even better. HH, Mike

Its a neolithic flint scraper (or 1/2 of one) 4000BC.
Under it is a flint core or waster (the bit left after they napped the blades)

Its been a while since I have had a day of no keepers, but I understand what you mean. I have had many blanks fishing & its never put me off. Being there is enough.
