as my 5'8" height would allow. Wasn't but 15 minutes and this was in the scoop. Hunted for a couple more hours before things started to got to busy for my liking and added nothing but caps and pull tabs.

so you have a beach that drops off - I had one too - it would go from 6ft and then slant down to 12 ft
and I knew that people swam out there - (have a snuba and a hookah and can hit there with ease now)
but years ago what I did was I went to Homedepot and bought like a 6ft long wood pole/handle and I
duck taped it to the rod of my PI Pro removed the box and attatched towards the end of the wood handle
now I had over a 10 ft reach - I would walk to edge of the drop off and use it like I was using a pool
vacuum - I wear a mask & snorkel - when I got a hit I would drop down with hand scoop . It worked
pretty good - I got a few gold rings doing this - it can be hard work if you don't get on the first try -
this would work great with a partner where you could hold coil on target and let other person scoop
Where there's a will there's a way. I've come close to getting a dunking more than once getting too close to the edge. Retrieved a ring once using the scoop as a backhoe reaching out and down pulling it up into shallower water.. LOL
I've had issues with drop-offs, was in danger of drowning a couple years ago in a fast moving river. Gotta watch out for the "dark water". Safety first, and a flotation vest is the answer.
