I remember someone(s) on the forum who could approximate the age of a shipwreck from the deadeyes found....
I have one that I need info on......Found at Corrigans Beach many years ago....totally encrusted and encapsulated in coquina/shell.
The condition when removed was outstanding and it went thru conservation by a controlled heated PEG solution bath for 6 months.
It was never dated...it was just assumed to be 1715 era....just want some other thoughts from more knowledgeable and experienced shipwreck folks..........
I know cobs...........not deadeyes.

Wow, Trez, that is just beautiful!

I think the problem with deadeyes, and dating them, is they changed very little over time. Good luck. I am sure there are a few here who may be able to lend a little more insight.
