I have always enjoyed getting a small pile of silver out of the 6-8 boxes that I order every month. Last month, I got six boxes, and two of them said "recycled" on them. This shipment turned out to be a skunk!

Yesterday, I went to the local B of A to get my load of six boxes, when the bank guy said "Do you dump these off at the Well's Fargo in _____?". I said, well, uh, yeah, to which the B of A guy said "The Loomis guy wondered if this is the case - he said you are probably just getting your old halves back, since they have a local processing facility. He said if you're searching for key coins, you should space your shipments out so you do not get your old coins back.". Then, the B of A guy brought out six boxes with "recycled" written on them.

I was starting to feel like a big idiot, but I took the boxes anyway, and went home to being a depressing search. So far, the results have been great. I have inspected five of the boxes, and pulled about 25 silvers out - with about 5 of them being 90%!

The other funny thing was that today, when I went to a Wells Fargo to deposit a check, I saw a 90% half in the tellers tray. They knew what it was, but they gave it to me anyway.

I will probably keep getting boxes, as I do not mind people thinking I am wierd. After a while they just stop paying attention...

Nice work on the keepers! That is a nice batch from that amount of boxes with the way things have been going lately.

And who cares if they think you are a nut as long as you keep landing those yummy pieces of silver!

Marking the coins might actually be something that would help you determine what percentage are your own returns. It could also help with the spacing out of shipments so you maximize getting new coins.

I don't advocate marking coins for most people, but since you were told that there is a local processing facility near you, it could help you out.

Just something to think about... and grats again on the silver.

The final totals (out of 6 boxes) are...

25 40%
11 90% (includes a Walker and a couple of Bens)
A couple of proofs
one 1987 P

The Silver yield was around 0.6%, which is my 4th highest yield ever.

Not too shabby, and I think I might hunt for a while longer!

Happy hunting.

Great haul!!! I just checked 1 1/2 boxes today and pulled zip, zero, nada... :tongue3:
