About 2.5+ inches high you can see the manufacturer's letters possibly a R and A and ? then @ Co. Was mounted onto something and has a point on the inside Very nice and old but of what use? any ideas.

EDIT: While the pic I posted is brass, they make them in all sorts of sizes and materials. Personally, I grew up seeing the steel hinges on screen doors now and then.
