I found this piece today while I was out detecting. Looks to be some kind of door fixture or latch. It’s got some nice decorations on it and id guess it’s probably got some age to it. I’ve found relics from the civil war up to the 40s at the site but I would guess 1900-1920. There’s two holes at the extremes of both ends. Any ideas?

Someone found one just like it and was found with door parts. It’s posted in my best finds under(yard of finds) by MelanieN

Eastlake styling. Late Victorian era up to 1920's. Door knob/lock escutcheon plate.

Earliest style of light switch casing with vacuum cleaner hose(in wealthy houses walls) plug-in circa 1917-1929?
