DeLeon

rusty, the DeLeon is a great machine for coin and relics but don't expect as much for it's ability to find nuggets unless they are large ones IMO. The freq of 10 kHz is a mid range which will probably serve your needs 90% of the time but for nugget hunting, you'd want something that has a manual ground balance as the soil and conditions where nuggets tend to be is usually more mineralized.
You might also look at the Vaquero as a more rounded detector and is just a bit less in price. One person here that you might ask is JOE(USA). He not only knows his stuff but is also a dealer.

Thanks Stoney. I thought maybe it was time to change and try a machine with the LED. I ordered the vaquero and I am sure I will be more than happy looking at all the info about it. I will keep you posted as to the new finds althought the Northwest is a tough place to hunt. Lotsa research. Rusty

Hey Rusty,

I think you made a good choice, I considered the Vaquero as well. I read a lot about it and just couldn't make up my mind between that and the Tejon. I finally went with the Tejon because I wanted to do some relic hunting as well as coin shooting and I read a lot of reviews that the Tejon was the machine for relics.

good luck and we all await your finds!!
