Depth of Reach for a Manticore???

Greetings. Questions for those in the know... searching for a cache here...
A) How deep can a Manticore reach in non-mineralized/lower mineralized soil?
B) Which coil would I need to do the job?

IMHO, for a cache, you'd want the M15. Depends on the size, the M11 could probably find a large cache.

Thanks for the reply. Size/metal... about 15-30 lbs of gold/silver coin - so not physically large. Depth could be as much as 3-4 feet.

I can find the d- box for septic system with the M11 on my Manticore. That's at least 36 inches deep. I imagine if the coins were all together and not scattered it might be in the realm of possibility.

If the Cache is below 36", you need a Pulse Induction unit (GPX / GPZ) with a Detech 32″ Concentric Search Coil.

So many variables to that question. If all the coins are small and not fused together, It's unlikely that you could detect them at that depth. If they're inside a big, solid metal container, then sure, that would be easy to find with a big coil on the Manticore, or by using a two box detector. If the coins are fused together, there's a good possibility they could be detected too. A typical metal detector would detect the largest item in a target group, not all the individual pieces as a unit. For example, a detector would pickup a clasp on a small link chain, not the links or as a whole unit. Weld all the same links together and you get a much larger target that can be detected at greater depth.
