That is a nice one...(top)
I could only guess late 50's to mid 60's :-\

The bottom one could have been a real one....It rusted away.

wow! Have no idea...wouldnt be surprised to hear it dates back to the 1920 to 1930's..Looks like a lot of detail whent into making that toy!

I would guess 1955 - 1960 on the Hubley cap gun. That's an excellent example for having been in the ground!
Those were around when I was an urchin. That's a "higher-end" cap gun than a lot of the ones that were around back then.
If you research antique cap guns (you probably already started), I expect yours would be worth at least 20 bucks. I'm pulling that out of my ear, I don't have any idea of typical values, just think your derringer is a nice one.

All I've gotten is a barrel and a receiver/cylinder part, from different locations and completely different cap guns.

You're right on, on the age of the cap gun. I had one just like the one in the picture when I was a kid in the early '50's. A nice reminder of time long gone.

Cool find Jeff, The one I found doesn't open up so I don't know how it was loaded.Unless it was a single shot.

The Bullet (CAP) may be stuck in yours.

Get some WD-40 or other Spray Lube & work it loose.

This is what I had to do.

Hey Hill Billy, Nice find. I had one around 1955 that was just like the one you found. Congrats...Lance

The bullet cap must be missing.I pulled the hammer back but no bullet.Oh well, to be in the ground that long I'm surprised it's in that good of shape anyway.

Yes that "White Metal" holds up good.

the bottom rusted away one was a Nichols Derringer (my favorite as a young boy in the 50's)
