Detecting and sluicing trip to AZ

I'm headed to AZ mid March for a vaca- with family to tour Grand canyon then meet my son for a cpl days detecting for gold and then some dry washing. Son and I got together each year in Cal. to pan, dredge, sluice etc over 10 yrs. Dry washing and detecting for gold will be new for us. any tips ?? we will be guided for this and will have a Gold bug 2 and my ATP. Should be a nice break from winter and great to be with my son again. any special tips ?? We will be in the Rich Hill area. Perry
