Detecting around my first lookout tower!

My father told me about a lookout tower he used to go to when he was kid this week so i talked him into going up in the mountains today. he doesnt usually like to go out in the cold or even walk for that sake but he was excited to go and was for it. The area was also used for small gatherings and picnics as well. The tower has been there since 1930 given the date on the platform of the tower. Due to vandalism the first set of steps have been removed, didnt look too safe anyways. There was an old foundation about 40 yards from the tower, which was where i started. I found nothing but junk and pull tabs for the first 45 minutes so i decided to go back over around the tower. I started getting reads every few feet, and good reads at that. I was pulling pennies and quarters left and right but no wheats or silver. I continued around and found in total 17 pennies, 4 quarters, and 1 dime. No silver though, but im going to hit this area much more thoroughly in the spring for sure.

Still not a bad haul.
Pretty deep freeze right now. Spend your months doin some research. Could be more foundations in the area.

im sure you will hit wheats , and silver when things taw out a bit

I hit this spot again on Fathers Day. Bugs and flies everywhere, I could hardly even see! I wasnt there very long. Found more change but no wheats or silver.. Maybe i was too late.
