The upside down star in the center is the symbol of the Order of he Eastern Star. One point above the square is the symbol of the Fellowcraft, the second degree in Freemasonry. What they have lost in membership over the years, they have gained in a smaller more dedicated membership. Still the worlds oldest and greatest fraternity.
