Detecting on Vieques island Puerto Rico?

Has anyone here visited or lived on this tiny island? I know some parts are off limits due to navy but otherwise what was your experience and were the locals friendly? Did you swing a detector?

I've been to Vieques. Beautiful white sand beaches. this is where the local PR's go for vacation. I have not detected there. My trip was before I got
into detecting. I would try the area where they load folks onto the pontoon boat for the Bioluminescent (Mosquito) Bay trip. Also, ask the locals where the popular beaches are. I don't remember any large hotels on a beach. Great little island with wild horses throughout. If I remember correctly, there are 2 villages on the island. People were very friendly as well.
