- Just getting started and enjoying it! I am a retired land surveyor and used the Schonstedt GA-52Cx Magnetic Locator to locate property corners! It was a blast & I never forgot that!

Just getting started and wondering about power sources for the popular units?
I see that some such as the Whites units feature a large rechargeable batt hanging underneath
and so assume all the others have smaller rechargeable or disposable DC batts?
Also, does the added bulk & weight of the large "slide in" batteries change the overall
comfort or balance during use?
