Detector(s) used
Whites Coinmaster 1000 and DFX
hi all.
I am planning on purchasing a Whites M6 soon. I would like to know what is a fair price on this detector. I will be buying it from my local whites dealer. Now being in the car busisness I know never to pay retail price. How do I know I am getting a fair deal. Should I haggle the price lower or try to get some goodies tossed in. Now I know the dealer needs to make a profit so I am not looking for invoice price just one in between. now I know I could prob get a better deal online but I want to get it from the dealer for various reasons. Any input on this subject would be very helpful for me.
thank you
Patrick

ikes,
Most dealers have already adjusted their prices down from the mfg suggested price to the actual "street" price. If you do pay an extra few bucks from your local dealer it will help keep him alive and well so when you have questions, need more equipment or need help learning your detector, the extra couple bucks will come back to you many times over.
Local dealers aren't in it for just a quick sale and forget about you. They live off their clientele. They try to give you the best deal they can so you will keep going back for more.
Shop around for prices so you have a clue to the street price, then go visit your local dealer and cut a deal. Rather than work him down on price it would be better to get him to throw in a book or a digging tool, coil cover, or whathaveyou.
You are lucky to have a dealer in your area. There are lots of folks here on TN that have no local dealer and are forced to use the net as a means to find detectors and equipment. Good luck and HH. Highwater

I agree with Highwater. If you have a good local dealer in your area you're fortunate! My dealer tossed in all kinds of goodies when I bought my MXT. I'm still using him. He is always giving me discounts on other purchases I make. If I have questions he is only a phone call away.

These prices are normally fixed , No dealing , its like going to wal -mart asking the cash register lady to discount the item your buying,, not going to happen.. good luck though,, Buying a MD is an investment,, With a good MD you'll get your $$$$ back in finds ... HH guzz1

The whole discussion of price fixing has been brought up before but I guess no one wants to be the one to pursue it anywhere. All you need to do is go to eBay and search for the detector you want and see what the dealers there are all bottoming out at on the buy it now prices. You'll see a preponderance of prices that are all the same on the low end and nothing lower. No legitimate dealer can sell for less than these prices or they run the risk of getting caught and dropped from the manufacturer of said machine.

Always. Whether it works or not it never hurts to ask, and if you don't ask you will not receive.

The price of my last detector was the same at all dealers. The dealer I went with threw in shipping, a coil cover and a Rattler headphone (in addition to the pinpointer and rain covers that were part of the detector package deal).

Kellyco is the way to go , If you live outside of Florida they will ship the detector to you free plus you don't pay state sale's tax.

Plus all the freebies you get, Free Shipping No Tax What more can a person ask for,

I know ask for Wanda she detects and knows her stuff.

Good luck Kellyco has sold me 4 detectors and a lot of other stuff, And the service has been great

Make sure you ask them all the question's you want to

I've heard some less than glowing comments about kellyco. Try e-bay (check feedback) I've got some good deals on lightly used detectors there.
