DFX and the Excellerater Coil

I used DirtFishin Dales Excellerator coil with my DFX last week at the beach. I had constant problems with with pull tabs hitting like quarters 85/88 VDI. After talking with Dale, he said he used it on his M6 and had the same problems. Has anyone out there used this same coil and experienced these same problems and is this coil truly cracked up as stated?
