I know it’s not much but maybe it will stir up some action in the fur trade thread

Got two roughly .50 cal musket balls... haven’t weighed and calculated yet

One still has the sprue showing

A flake and a brass tack with a square shank it probably was adorning a trade gun which I’ve recovered pieces of in the same area

A small square nail, could be from a crate?

And some scrap iron and a modern .22

Thanx for the input, OB! Nice finds!
Been in Florida Pan Handle since 1st of Jan., so no input from me! (Ground is frozen in Iowa, anyway!!)

Best of luck!

No frozen ground but my spots about picked clean. It’s pretty surprising I came up with that much. Lately I can spend a few hours to find one or two targets

I hear ya'! Same way with mine........Lost my best sites when the owners died & the big "farm" corporations bought the land & won't let anyone even walk on their land!
Like you, the smaller sites I have left I've picked pretty clean............
