Found this in a site that dates back to the early 1850's and today it's just fields in the middle of nowhere. But back in the heyday of the gold rush it was a bustling town of mostly miners from Mexico, Peru and Chili. I found this and it came out of the dirt looking just like this. Not sure what the metal is, either thin stamped brass that's coated, thin tin that's coated or even aluminum. It's bigger than a quarter but smaller than a half dollar. Has two very small holes at top and bottom on rolled edge that looks like a pin would have gone through.
I have emailed several of the top 3rd Reich era collectors and dealers and all of them so far have said it's not related to Germany and pre-dates WWII as it was a popular good luck symbol. Would love to have someone here recocognize this pin! I am absolutely obsessed about identity of my finds and this one is one that really intrigues me.
The pocket watch cover was a nice heavy large one on rear says "Leader" and "Coin Silver".
