I purchased a variety of different colonial coins from a dealers show case at a antique shop. All of the coins were priced to sell and appear original. The only one that I question is a 1773 Virginia coin. The wear looks right and the weight seems fine but it has a very light dull nickel look where it has some wear. I thought these coins were copper so Im wondering if this one is real. Here's some pics.
