Die break?

Die break on the 9?
Never seen such an oversized rounded 9 before.

Probably a chipped die which caused the filled 9. Not uncommon that year.

Thanks. I thought about a chipped die. I thought it was too big to be called a chip.

Yeah, these are referred to as a die chip.
Prevalent on the B's and R's also because the die has a "post" that forms the center of these areas that can break
