Difference between shaft and rod?

On the Anderson website, you have

Menu > Shop > Metal Detector Shaft
Menu > Shop > Metal Detector Rod

I clicked on those and I just don't see the difference between a shaft and a rod. What is the difference?

They look the same to me, but apparently there is a difference since they are making a distinction between the two.

The terms are used interchangeably by most people. For Anderson, "lower rod" refers to only the piece connected to the coil, whereas "shaft" refers to the whole assemblage.
