Difference between Tiger Shark and Sand Shark

What are differences and which would be better for FL West coast beaches?

THX

The Tiger Shark is a Very Low Frequency (VLF) machine, and meant for Fresh Water use. The Sand Shark is a Pulse Induction (PI) machine, and works much better in highly mineralized soils and salt water. Google "Pulse Induction," and "VLF." If you are hunting Salt Water beaches, you want the Sand Shark. - Terry

Granted the Tiger Shark is a VLF it has a Saltwater mode and depending on the amount of salt and black sand I found it stable on wet sand but would false with the shallow waves and so did the Sand Shark. But to be on the safe side a PI is the better one to use at saltwater beaches. But you could also dig two foot holes for wire bread wrapper wires with a pulse.

Using a pulse like the Sand Shark in fresh water could drive you to drink as hair pins can last decades in fresh water. So it just depends on how much fun you want to have.

THX guys, that answers the question.

Actually, this is more for my son who lives in SW Fl and is looking for a dedicated water machine for the salt water beaches. We have Sov Gts for the salt beaches, wet sand and dirt and also have a Vaquero and Compadre for dry sand, tot lots, parks etc. The Sov GT deserves it's great rep and the Tesoros are way under rated excellent detectors as well.

I see Dewguru mopping up the Clearwater beach area with a Sand Shark and was thinking it could be cheaper for my son than going with an Excal. So, I figure the Sand Shark works in salt water but didn't know much about the Tiger.

Per Rusty at Tesoro this false with the shallow waves is taken care of with the new hard wiring. Because the water proof aluminum connector on the older units was causing a problem with conductivity.
I have a used TigerShark for sale just back yesterday from Rusty Henry tuneup at Tesoro. It is hardwired, 8" coil and in excellent condition. Send me a PM if interested.
