different type nazi button. Need ID.

Picked this up in a batch of items given to museum. What was this button used for. Anyone know/

Has standard RZM marking with M 5/8. Two loops on back side with unique back, half raised, half flat as shown. . Gold wash or gilt.
3/4 inch Dia.
Any help is appreciated

Cool! Never seen any button like that with double shanks. I can only guess that it was used in a high stress area like the waist band of trousers.

These markings are seen on many dagger chains and clips which have a double hook. Maybe it goes to an early german dagger.

Great find! But it leaves us with a thought....Did they stash Hitler's body in the bowels of a museum or did they leave Hitler loose, deep in the Swamps of Louisiana? Too many possibilities. But one thing is for sure, we can mark this find solved.
