- All Garrett: Ace 250 (two), AceApex, VX-9. Have owned just about every Garrett ever made. First three detecter I made myself, with the first one in 1962.

I'm not fond of Nylon® especially around sharp objects. In my case, that's a Nylon® sheath for my Garrett Digger. The original case failed several times, even though I sewed it back up, twice! Garrett was nice enough to send me a new one. It was slightly larger but otherwise the same as the original. I used it about four outings, and no one knows how many ins and outs? Then this morning, the replacement failed too, and in the same manner—the stitching down one side just failed. It acted like the stitching was a chain type, and not locked-stitched. Enough already.
I went by HobbyLobby, picked up some heavy leather and lacing. Did a bit of measuring (overly I might add), and came up with a better sheath. Leather working isn't my forte, but I believe this will suffice for a much longer time! By the way, I left the bottom open which will allow the dirt to fall out the Botton.
