I bought a Lesche M85 in around 2005 and have used it since. In mowed areas I prefer a Trans-Mississippi Digger I bought in about 2008. This has a rectangular blade of 2-3/8" x 9", a little thicker gauge than the Lesche, with the handle mounted perpendicular to the blade.

I use the Lesche where there may be roots and the TMD where there are not.

In the woods I use a 37" Dixie Relic shovel (Model 58) from Predator Tools. Had that maybe since 2009. Just got one of their Pearl (Model 57) hand/prospector picks I plan to use in place of the shovel - but haven't tested it out yet.

Not familiar with a Saber Tooth Trowel.

I will check those out.
Thanks Charlie P.

I like my Lesche. But the durability and better grip on the Viking makes digging so much easier. Plus it has a sharper point and saw teeth to move through the ground easier.

Wow that Viking looks like the cats meow.
I will look around at those as well.
Thanks
